AN ENCYCLOPEDIC REFERENCE BOOK ABOUT ARMAMENT OF THE RUSSIAN GROUND FORCEC HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

 The encyclopedic reference book about Russian rocket and artillery armament of ground forces has been published on June 28. It is the second volume of the scientific and technical series "Russia's Arms and Technologies. The XXI century Encyclopedia" being published under general supervision of the Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ivanov. The book is prefaced by greetings of the Russian President Vladimir Putin seeing "visible implementation of our designers', engineers' and workers' labor and talent" in the military equipment described in the book.
The exclusive right for international distribution of the book, containing text in both Russian and English, belongs to the American company "Tommax". Its president Thomas Langan said that this publication is addressed mainly to specialists of governmental, industrial and academic circles in the USA and other countries taking a professional interest in Russian arms. It is no coincidence that there are more than 850 subscribers of the encyclopedia despite of its high price - $495 each volume. 70 percent of these subscribers are American institutions, organizations and companies. And the total international edition counts 2000 copies.
Langan believes that there are no similar books in the world of such complete covering and trustworthy information obtained directly from Russian weapon manufacturers. Especially this Encyclopedia is useful to those who want to improve scientific, technical and trade relations with Russian defense enterprises.
The first volume of the Encyclopedia was dedicated to Russian strategic nuclear forces and has been issued one year ago. Now the period between issues should be shorter: the third volume about naval weapons should appear by the end of this summer, following volumes should be issued with a period of 2 - 3 months. By the end of the next year the subscribers should obtain in common 10 volumes providing complete presentation of present capabilities of Russian armourers.
