THE SECOND BOOK OF THE MULTI-VOLUME ENCYCLOPEDIA "RUSSIA'S ARMS AND TECHNOLOGIES. THE XXI CENTURY ENCYCLOPEDIA" HAS BEEN ISSUED

The second book of the multi-volume encyclopedia "Russia's Arms and Technologies. The XXI century Encyclopedia" has been issued. It is a reference book about Russian rocket and artillery armament of ground forces.

"The military equipment presented in the book is a visible realization of labor and talent of our designers, engineers and workers. At the beginning of the new century you proudly continue glorious traditions of Russian armourers", - wrote the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in his greetings.

Defense enterprises are aimed to equip our army with systems and facilities able to do battles efficiently all the time at any weather conditions, - noted the Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov in his foreword article. According to Ilya Klebanov, a special attention is paid to modern battle facilities for operative and tactical formations: communication facilities including space systems; observation, reconnaissance and electronic warfare facilities including unmanned aircraft able to monitor the battle area; navigation equipment including the system GLONASS.

The Encyclopedia is being prepared by the Publishing House "Arms and Technologies" under general supervision of the Defense Minister. The first volume has been issued more than one year ago. It was dedicated to Russia's strategic nuclear forces. The third book will present naval weapons. It will appear in August, and following volumes - in 2002. Specialists say that the Encyclopedia is the most complete illustrated description of all types of modern Russian arms, military equipment and defense technologies. It is addressed mainly to specialists in governmental, industrial and academic circles of many countries taking a professional interest in Russian arms.

The Publishing House "Arms and Technologies" distributes the Encyclopedia in Russia, and the American company "Tommax Incorporated" distributes the Encyclopedia abroad.
